Example: a course paid in instalments
A fictional professional training provider offers a three-part certificate course.

The learner agrees to three instalments and pays the first with
recurring: true. - 2
The provider stores the recurring token and schedules the remaining instalments in its own system.

Each instalment is created with the token and reported by callback.

If the learner withdraws within the provider's refund window, the provider issues a refund against the relevant payment.
